If you are having a hard time beating scabies you should check this article out, it could be that you have a more advance stage of scabies called norwegian scabies which in its worst stage starts crusting the skin, and some times you have to treat naturally as some scabies have evolved and are resistant to the permethrin treatments.

Yup norwegian scabies is definetely bad, a normal case of scabies can progress into norwegian scabies pretty rapidly. This is why it is important to treat rite away, though old age and immune system problems would contribute to norwegian scabies alot faster.

Some scabies probably need different treatments as some are resisitant in certain conditions, I would look at using natural treatments at first and use chemicals and pesticides on your body last if everything fails. There are even reports that permethrin creams are not working on scabies and that the natural products are more effective and actually help your skin more instead of harm it. Scabies can be a tough condition to cure, especially when some have problems telling if they have scabies or post scabies.

My guess is Norwegian scabies is pretty rare, I would say about 70% of people just have normal scabies as they likely have a healthy immune system.

How many people in the United States do you figure have norwegian scabies as opposed to general scabies? I know scabies is very wide spread and millions of people likely worldwide get scabies each year, but what is the comparison to people who have norwegian scabies? I have also heard of papsule scabies or something like that where the scabies are more burrowed into the skin. I would be intrested to hear more about these stats and about papsule scabies.
