There had been someone in out house who was infected with scabies.He has taken some oral medicine and I have been talking care to wash his clothes as well as his bedding in hot water.I am really worried,does our whole family need to be treated. do we have to keep meticulously relaundering his clothes,bedding,towels after every use?What do we do about the mattresses,car?is it really necessary to also iron all the laundry?thanks

Seems like it from what I have read form other threads in the forum ,that is what it looks like vigorous cleaning is needed , my suggestion would be to keep washing all clothes and linens in hot water but include borax. Changing of sheets has also helped me get better sleep.

Those are some great tips, but I along with all this I also iron my clothes and sheets, you really need to discuss with your doctor whether all need to be treated, if the infected person using a topical and are you and others being treated including cats and dog.

I would actually advice you to ask the person to stay elsewhere for a week or something, I know this might really sound rude, but believe me scabies is horrible, Has your doctor not told you that everyone needs to be treated, it's protocal. absolutly treat the whole family including pets at the same time. do this now before the scabies is wide spread in your home. Scabies is very contagious spreads very very fast.

Clothing and bedding has to be washed or changed everyday,with borax and bleach becoming your best friend. Keep your hair up. Don't go barefoot.
Wear gloves and long sleeve shirts.Get Rx Stromectol and a first-line topical like Permethrin 5%.Hops that helps

I'm surprized the MD didn't give your an Rx.The family member who's immune system is suppressed is at risk of a very bad infestation, You really need to be aware that you could already be infected Please be you could have mites already and won't display symptoms for about 3 weeks, maybe longer.

I have read some great suggestions like mixing borax with salt and letting it sit in the carpet for a couple of weeks keeps them away from infesting the carpets.wash your linens every night in hot water with borax/salt mix and or ammonia and one more important thing don't forget to wipe down the mattress with ammonia before putting the clean sheets back on,keep reading you will come to know a lot from this forum.

Scabies is the most horrible thing that I have ever experienced,I never felt comfortable anywhere,You really need to extra careful with this as it is highly contagious.

I have actually consulted 2 doctors and both are of the opinion that I do not have scabies,
but I'm not able to get rid of these invisible bugs..especially in my car, What is the ratio of salt to borax? I'm interested in trying this borax/salt or fleabusters powder.

you can buy Nylar (which is an insect growth regulator) and Bifen I/T mix it with water per the instructions and spray away on your seat and floor, door, ceiling, before entering your car and after. You can also keep a clean towel on the seating and the floor.

I must agree, it is pretty funny how before you get scabies you have no clue about what it really is! It must be people are so ashamed or going nuts to even tell their story, to be honest I never had a clue what scabies was. But once I got it I was in hell, this has to be one of the worst illness' to go through. The itchiness must be 10times that of poison ivy, I really feel for everyone who has gone through scabies as it took my skin over 8months to get back to normal.

You need to treat your whole family immediatly and all at once, or you could start a mini scabies epidemic within your household that will just continue to pass itself around, you must also clean your house for weeks so you dont get reinfected with scabies. Post scabies feels much like scabies but the signs and itchiness will fade out.

Clean like your life depends on it and make sure you treat your whole family even if they do not show signs of active scabies! This is important so that you dont start a mini scabies epidemic within your own household because then it becomes more difficult to rid of it. Learn more about the scabies mites life cycle or whatever mite you may have.
