I have bites all over my face and by body is starting to itch-they are NOW on my body!
I did an extra strong 10% permethrin dip on my scalp last night.. this morning I had bites on my face and eyebrows. May be that’s’s the reason I have it all over my body now.

Just take care with your pets, they can get this all over too, put them on revolution, you may also consider keeping them away from you for a while. I would recommend applying the permethrin at 5% consentrate, by adding half lotion to it, and then applying it from the soles of your feet, to the top of your scalp, also to all of your hair.

Don't worry so much, read the threads on here, there are lots of great answers and advice, you will get through this, you can clean and bleach down the floors everyday (I use my bathroom)

Thanks for all the advice mable, I appreciate it.
I GOT scabies from when I last got a haircut 3 weeks ago. Immeditely noticed mild itching, then dandruff and scabs, and 5 days ago intense crawling itchng and bites. But I feel the treatments on some of the threads is sure to help.I cant isolate my pets, I have 4 big dogs, and several cats. I think I can feel the ivermectin starting to work. I took it about one and a half hours ago.

I actually couldn’t believe when I got infected with scabies, I got scabies from the gym I work out at and what a nightmare it's been. I have started a routine with the treatment Permethrin 5% 3 times once per week from neck to toes. I'm going to keep this routine until I no longer get any bites. I do not want to miss out on the routine Please let me know all your advices on my routine

The ivermectin plus the permethrin I believe are working now its just matter of thoroughly cleaning my house. This morning when I woke up This morning I woke up my scalp was severely itching, I think it is from chemical burns from the permethrin. I'm happy to report that I have not felt much of itching on my body last night. Before I went to bed I put the 5% everywhere, drenched my head down to my feet and put some on my dogs stomach and underarms where she has burrows.

If this is a human perm I would advices you to leave it for at least 16 hours, When I first started using it I left it on only 7-8 hours. several docs told me and others 24 hours is ok.. If that doesn't work go back to your doc and request ivermectin. Very important factor is regarding the cleanliness that you should keep in mind.

I am pretty sure you can use that 1% permethrin that is meant for lice to use on your head if you have scabies , this would probably take care of any scabies you would have in your scalp, it comes in a kit and is like 10$ , comes with a green comb and stuff. It worked for me as I had scabies and a few got on my scalp somehow. I was too scared to treat with the 40$ 5% permethrin because when i had that stuff on my body i felt like i was an active nuclear plant , i could actualy hear buzzing noises and felt like i was vibrating. No wonder people say that is a dangerous toxic chamical pesticide. I would probably never use the permethrin pesticide for scabies if i got them again , the stuff is horrible and I never knew if i was gonna die or not.

Does permethrin even come in 10% lol, I am sure it only comes in 5% , 5% is enough to kill you or leave you with life long skin conditions, I can not imagine what 10% would feel like or do to you. I had scabies years ago and I remember permethrin did not work for me, it made me feel sick and high and ultimately made my skin a disaster and much worse. Cure yourself naturally instead of using pesticides on your body, rarely nowadays people will even put pesticides on their lawn nevermind themselves.

Hello,

I suffered with rampant scabies lesions on my trunk and loin area for 4 weeks. They itched especially around 2-4 a.m.. Permethrin 5% cream didn’t work. The mixture of borax with hydrogen peroxide subsided the bumps for a day and then new ones appeared. Sulfur mixed with petroleum jelly gave the same result. Nothing availed.

A friend told me to soak in hot salt water for an hour for 4 days and not to rinse after each bath. I soaked and scrubbed all parts of my body so that the mites under the skin would be exposed. The bumps and the itch disappeared!!! I slept so well for the first time. I washed my bed sheets, pillows, comforter and clothes everyday in borax and detergent. I also vacummed and sanitized the whole house with borax. Soaking in a hot bath mixed with 2 lbs of sea salt for an hour for 4 days really works. This treatment is cheap and non-toxic.

Sounds like a great post scabies protocol, as for a full treatment this will not work if you have more than 2 mites on your body.

Hi,

I think I may be suffering from scabies, but have yet to confirm as the rashes have just started to show up about a week or 2 ago? I did some thorough researching and decided to investigate on the scabies life cycle, and here's a little strategy that i think might work, but I'm not sure if it would be safe.

Scabies mites can't lay eggs unless they mature, which is around 8 days after hatching. Generally, a mature female lays about 2-3 eggs per day, and it takes around 3-4 days for the eggs to hatch. When they do, the immature bugs stay relatively close to to the surface of your skin. And then it takes another 3-4 days for them to mature and burrow deeper into you.

So here's the strategy I kind of came up with...

Day 1- Take Permethrin treatment and Ivermectin oral pills. The permethrin should be absorbed enough by your skin to kill the mature mites (keyword: should). I read somewhere that the ivermectin works by paralyzing the little buggers so the ones you do get shouldn't be able to reproduce? (However some may have already done so on the day prior to your treatment)

Day 2- Re-apply permethrin. This should kill immature mites that may have hatched on the day and wasn't killed during day 1.

Day 3- Re-apply permethrin again, for similar reasons as the first.

Day 4- Considering we've re-applied permethrin 3 consecutive days, the mites hatching on the 4th day should (theoretically) at most be the ones from the eggs laid during day 1. We know this so we can break the permethrin cycle. Possibly just try bathing with sulfur soap as I heard they have some positive effects

Day 5 and Day 6- Same drill as day 4. No permethrin treatment, just wash with sulfur soap.

Day 7- The immature mites should be maturing now so I think it might be a good idea to apply permethrin again. I read that they fully mature around day 10, and should still be incapable of reproduction at this stage.

Day 8- Re-apply permethrin (in case some of them mature on the 4th day instead). Re-take the ivermectin (as I read you are only supposed to take the doses seven days apart)

Hypothetically, after this, one should have killed the creatures on the body. Also, you will be doing some eradication at home on the days too, these include the daily washing of beddings, linen and clothing. Vacuuming and sealing items that cannot be washed. They can only survive 2-3 days (i.e. before they can even mature and reproduce) without human host, so I think sealing items in plastic bags for about a week should be good enough. It's not necessary, but to be on the safe side, maybe fumigate bedrooms and cars with Raid Fumigator (which is said to contain 12% permethrin). I wouldn't fumigate the kitchen/pantry area though. I would probably put shoes in a plastic bag and spray them with lysol. I'd probably only leave a pair or 2 out for daily use during treatment period. Also, with the washing, it's important to note that items should be washed at temperatures of at least 50-60C. It would probably be a wise idea to use hot/iron dryer for them as well.

Anyway, the underlying concern in my proposed 8-day scabies treatment is whether or not there are adverse effects with applying 5% permethrin for the three straight days in the beginning. Can anyone shine a light on this? I've heard that permethrin is the least toxic scabicide treatment available to this day, so unless told otherwise, I would go ahead with my "plan".

I would have otherwise researched this, but resources are limited. Also, I am a university student (doing Biomed actually), and as much as I would like to spend time researching more about this, I have academic priorities, too. So if anyone would like to comment on this would be of great help! I'm gonna go see my doctor today just to confirm whether it's indeed scabies that I have or not, but I'm almost positive that it is.

I was the poster above,

Anyway, I wanted to share my opinion about the hot shower. I'm a bit skeptical about this as the bath/shower water probably wasn't hot enough to kill the mites. Unless it's like 50C water. Another thing, because the rashes are an inflammatory response to the chemicals secreted by the scabies mite, I think it will only worsen the itch as the heat will encourage vasodilation. Because the diameter of the blood vessels is larger, there would be more blood flow going to the affected area, increasing possible likelihood of swelling (bumps would get bigger) and the rash to become itchier.

It's getting quite cold where I am at the moment, and I seriously won't survive without hot showers. However, I found that they only make the itch worse, and I believe it is for due to the reasons I've stated above.

When you have scabies it will naturally feel good to take extremly hot showers but this is not doing nothing and could be possibly ruining your skin or making it more succeptable for the scabies. I had good experiences taking baths with epsom salts once a night it really helped to heal the skin and bring it back to life.

Did you end up trying to use the epsom salts for your post scabies? Let us know where your at with it!

You can also use baking soda as it will reduce the ph levels in your skin and make it soft and it takes away the itching so you can sleep. I used both epsom salts and baking soda to relax when I had scabies. It let me get some rest and concentrate.

For everyone reading this forum I suffered like many other people with scabies for 6 months. The dermatologist's all three of them didn't believe I had them. They thought one application of permitheran cream would kill them THEY WERE WRONG. I had a lot of trouble reading this forums for people that found a solution just people who were suffering without a cure. I just want to tell you that I am finally cured and this is how I did it. The scabies mite can only live off a human host for a maximum of 72 hours. I thought they could live longer because I kept cathing them. So what I did was actually remove some of the scabies and put them on slides to be viewed by a microscope. The longest I had one live off of me was roughly 30 hours. So I am confident they cannot survive off a human host that long. I used permitheran cream six different times keeping it on for 15 hours it didnt' work. I also used ivermectic a pill form to remove them it also did not work. I also used tea tree oil, witch hazel, lavender oil, neem seed oil, rubarb poweder, bleach baths, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, hot tub baths, olive oil, almond oil, coa coa butter, physically removing them, and any other thing I read that might possible work. SO THIS IS WHAT WORKS BUT I AM NOT A DOCTOR AND IT MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU AND IT MAY BE HARMFUL TO YOUR HEALTH. I used permeitherin cream and left it on my body for 72 hours so that away they could not live on my skin and everything else clothes est they would be dead before I washed it off. After that I did a bleach bath to wash it off and kill that scabies that were immune to the permitherin. Then the next 3 nights I used a mixture of tea tree oil, neem seed oil, witch hazel, lavender oil, and almond oil mixture and left it on every night for three nights in a row for 12 hours. Make you sure you have plenty of ventaltion because the smell is very potent and bad smelling. This time around I did not wash my clothes clean my carpets or clean my bed sheets my theory was that they would be all dead because they couldnt live on me. Then 7 days later just in case there any eggs left that survived I did a another permitherin treatment for 24 hours followed by one night of the natural oils mixture. I AM FINALLY CURED!!!! I know this is expensive and a lot of work but it finally worked for me I hope it helps you all out I know how frusterating it is!!!

Your lucky you didnt kill yourself or give yourself cancer from permethrin. You should of used sulfur treatments as they work and are safe. All you need is sulfur creams to kill scabies! Unless you have norwegian scabies do not bother with permethrin creams such as Nix and Kwelleda p, they are very dangerous and have been taken off the market in most countries.
