Scabies is an infectious skin condition which occurs because of the invasion with parasitic mites. These mites which are responsible for causing scabies in human beings are referred to as the Sarcoptes scabiei var. hominis. There are other kinds of mites which can cause scabies in animals; however these are not able of plaguing humans.

Sarcoptes scabiei var. hominis could be acquired directly by coming into contact with infected people or by coming into contact with infected objects. Scabies mites mount onto the skin once they find a human host and often hide in the lesser exposed parts of the body. Therefore scabies is commonly found in feet, toes, ankles, the genitals, knees, the buttocks, elbows, wrists and upper back. In a few rare cases, scabies might also appear on the scalp and the face.

Such mite infestation should be eradicated at the earliest and there are a lot of treatment methods available for scabies. However, synthetic medications have a various side-effects and could not be tolerated by a majority of patients. Manuka is one of the natural cures highly effective for scabies. Manuka extract helps in relieving the symptoms of scabies and also eradicate the infestation of mites. Manuka also possesses antiseptic properties which would minimize the bacterial infections. It restricts the chances of developing any body complications such as impetigo. There are no side effects attached to this natural cure and could be purchased in the form of a cream, oil or soap.

I know tea tree oil will not kill scabies, it is called the manuka plant as it derives from Australia, I really think Australia is trying to just make money off this rare plant by claiming it cures all, but as seen around the Internet Tea Tree oil will not kill scabies, it will only help mask the itching. There are likely alot of natural ways to cure scabies, and I suggest you try natural ways before you use products like Kwelleda , Nix or anything that contains the dangerous chemicals and pesticides like permethrins. Try treating naturally first! You will thank me later...

I agree, after reading on this forum alot about using tea tree oil in a bath, I have bought a bottle and begun using it last week. It does a wonderful job at soothing the skin and allowing me to get sleep at night. So it is definetely not a scabies killer but it can go a long way to aid you in the post scabies time.

It seems some australian researchers or scientists concluded that tea tree oil will kill scabies but they do not document their protocol to use it, there is statistics on the patients and tests they did. Kinda seems sketchy considering I have tried tea tree oil as a scabies cure and spent thousands with no result. Now my house smells really bad and I can not even get rid of the odour. Do not bother with this stuff it is useless and I think it has caused breathing problems with me, it is a awfully strong oil.
