Scabies happen to be a widespread parasitic infection on a global proportion. An approximate 300 million cases arise annually all across the world. Sarcoptes scabiei var hominis is the arthropod that causes an extremely itchy and highly contagious skin infestation. It could affect people of all ages, ethnic groups or genders. For more than 2500 years scabies infestation has been reported. "Lice in the flesh," was an expression used by Aristotle to describe the condition. The disease was, however, first ascribed to the parasite in 1687 Giovan Cosimo Bonomo. It was the first disease amongst humans to be caused by a specific pathogen.

The mite which causes scabies is an obligate parasite and it completes its full life cycle on the body of the humans. Some of the other variations of this parasite can cause infestation in other animals such as cats, pigs, horses, dogs, and ferrets. These variants have the same symptoms as the scabies in humans and are unable to reproduce in humans. These smaller variations can only lead to temporary dermatitis.

Scabies Life Stages

The female mites lay eggs beneath the surface of the skin and they hatch in 3-4 days, although 90% of the produced mites die. Larvae would then migrate to the skin surface and burrow deep in the skin making molting pouches. Larvae would then turn into larger nymphs and thereafter become adults. The female is fertile for her entire life if the mating takes place once and the male dies after mating.

There are numerous different ways to kill scabies naturally instead of using dangerous chemicals such as permethrin. If your looking to kill your scabies with 3 items from your grocery store within 24 hours you should visit --> http://ScabiesCure.info

I beleive the scabies mite cycle can be anywhere from 4-8 days, this is the time in which the eggs may survive the treatment and then reinfest you again with scabies. This is a very improtant time in the treatment of scabies as you have to completely kill off the scabies mites and the eggs. This is why it is key to treat 5-7 days later to ensure a complete kill. I would start off by using natural scabies cures before using chemicals like permethrin or lindane which can cause you more complex skin problems and may even cause cancer.

These products have been taken off most markets as people are now treating naturally, even when these treatments were more widely used they were not permitted to be used by pregnant females and children. As time has went on the complications associated with these permethrin creams has prevailed and now many reports indicate that they do not even work for scabies infestations. Try treating for 2 weeks naturally, you will save your skin!

I was under the impression that the scabies egg cycle was 5-7 days? Perhaps the extra 2 days is to ensure they are out of the egg or something? Does anyone know when scabies would begin the cycle of mating again once born? It must be pretty fast if you have to get them exactly 5-7 days later... Scabies treatment is really learning about the mite cycle I guess, you really have to have a gameplan set into motion when attacking scabies... My daughters scabies is slowly going after treating naturally, I would never douse her in permethrin or any other chemical. Lots of good info around here.

Is this hte same when scabies are living in your environment? Can they still duplicate and reproduce? How long can scabies live when they are not on your body?
