I must say without both of these things I would have lost my marbles. Anyone else have things that saved them from going nuts

You can also treat itching with antihistamine medications such as diphenhydramine ( Benadryl).

Different anti-itch medications are available in the antihistamine class. The most common is diphenhydramine (Benadryl). Other medications used are triamcinolone 0.1% cream, hydroxyzine (Atarax).

steroid creams, antihistamines (such as Benadryl), and, in severe cases, steroid pills can be used to relieve itching, but they do not kill scabies mites. Benadryl does not kill the scabies mites.

Curing scabies with out prescribed or recommended drugs has not yet been possible. Still one can take some measures in order to prevent the re infecting of the family or them selves

Treating scabies involves two types of medication topical cream to treat the scabies and itch medication for relief. Benadryl does help in some extent to release the itching .

You guys should just be using sulphur soaps and creams for scabies and during post scabies, this will help clear up all the lessions and kill any mites and it will bring your skin down to its first layer and get rid of all the feceal matter that is making you itch. I would also still use Cocoa butter on areas of harder skin such as elbows and feet or any places with thick skin. This should help alot: Scabies Sulfur Soaps and Creams God Bless

Sulfur creams help tons with scabies infestations. I have also used the cocoa butter in areas working the skin in circular motions and it would help loosen out particles of mites and their debris to the surface. The key in post scabies is to moisturize but do not over do it because your skin still needs to breath and by clogging your pores you could make the condition worse. Usuaally in post scabies if you over moisturize you will end up with more lessions and breakouts and just make things worse.
