We are all aware about bed bugs. These creatures have gained a lot of popularity in the last few years. Bedbugs are creating havoc across homes and hotels around the world. At the same time as it may perhaps be expensive and painful to eliminate these creatures, it has been proven that they do not spread any diseases. Bedbugs can lead to allergic reactions in the body but the symptoms are not that severe unless you experience anaphylactic reactions.

On the other hand, scabies can be a huge threat to public health. Major difference between bedbugs and scabies is that the latter can infest you. If you were to observe closely under the microscope, the scabies mite is approximately 3mm long. The female mites create the burrows within the skin folds and start laying eggs there, whereas the male mites are found usually towards the surface.

Getting rid of scabies can be an intricate process since most people go through resistant infections. Furthermore, they experience secondary infestations from scratching off the itch or people face reactions to the scabicides which are used for the treatment. Scabicides are medications, similar to insecticides, which are used to eliminate the mites completely. Even if the concentration of insecticides is not as high, it could still be poisonous if consumed orally. Therefore, a majority of these medications are intended for external use. There are less toxic treatment options existent but the mites are pretty resistant to those. Scabies infestation is not as rare as it used to be. For an instance, as many as one million cases of scabies are reported in US alone.
