If you found small blood stains on your bed and you have serious reasons to believe that something bites you during night, maybe you have a bed bug infestation. Although it is better to prevent than to have to go through all the trouble of getting rid of them, there are very efficient ways to stop bed bugs from eating you alive. You probably found blood stains on your mattress and the blood is most certainly yours. Whether you killed a bed bug during night by rolling over it after it recently fed or you have been bitten and the blood continued flowing out for a while because of the substance the bug injected into you, the blood is yours. You don’t need to worry, because big stains don’t necessarily mean a big blood loss. However, you do need a good plan to get rid of these pests.
If you want to take care of the situation yourself just don’t do the first thing that comes to your mind – which is probably using bug spray. Although this is probably effective against bugs, it is dangerous to you too, so forget about it. Instead, look for the bugs’ nest. Your best chance of finding it is by looking in the mattress’ folds. Vacuum it at full power until you see no more bed bugs. Lift the mattress and look on all its sides and on the bed too, to make sure that you didn’t omit anything. Get your dresser empty and clean it thoroughly and everything you get out of it, wash it in really hot water, to make sure that you kill any ugly survivors. If you did all of the above and you still believe that you are being bitten at night, maybe you didn’t actually find all of the nests, so try to put some delicious sticky traps on the floor. Bug mites will surely be lured to them and stay there until you will be able to easily clean them off your floor and throw them away.
After everything is clean and bug-free, you will probably not get any more problems with bed bugs. However, check their favorite places every once in a while, to make sure that they didn’t come back. Also, vacuuming your home in each and every corner should be done every once in a while anyway, so even if just one bug will come, you will be ready to send it away once again.
