Does anyone know if you can use the 1% permethrin for spot treating scabies? I know permethrin is not good but will this lice treatment work on itchign that may persist after scabies treatment? Or should I just concentrate on moisturizing my skin and taking clariton?

I don't think so! I know that 1% lice treatment stuff is only a shampoo and says you should wash out immediatly after using, the other creams are something you leave on for 12-14 hours. So yeah I think there is a huge differnece in the mites. For spot treating you mite want to look into the clearasil skin tone products which contain 8% sulfur and 2% resorcinol. I have heard good things about using this for a scabies spot treatment plus it is really good for acne as that is its original use.

You can find little tubes of it anywwere online or at your local pharmacy.

The 5% permethrin treatments made specifically for scabies dont even work so the chances of a 1% cream for lice working is rare to nil. I would suggest try treating yourself naturally first and avoid using pesticides on your body, because if you can do it naturally you save your skin from all the suffering the permethrin does to it.

Hi! I'm very happy that I found a forum to talk about scabies. We've got scabies at home since last year. We hace the situation quite controlled but we can never say it ended. What are we doing worng? We use permethrin 5%, me have ivermectin pills, I boil sheets, towels and any clothe. If it is some kind of woll that I can not boil I warp it and leave it for a month in a sealed bag. I put clothes in the freezer too at 25 ° C degrees below zero! But it returns and returns and returns.... I need help!!
Thank you

Yes scabies can be very difficult to get rid of. It requires a really good game plan and some treatments may not work for people, the permethrin creams seem not to be that effective, if one treatment didnt work for you try using something else. I would also consider reading this forum or more on scabies life cycle so you can put a proper gameplan into place.

The 1% stuff wont work as the 5% is 5 times stronger and doesnt even work. Wouldnt advice even wasting any money to even try and see

The solution will appear in a container that is only used for one application. Any portion of the lotion that is not used should be discarded. According to the Mayo Clinic, you ought to pay special attention to your ears and neck, making sure you cover these areas well. Let the medication to penetrate for at least 10 minutes, and then wash the medication.
