If for about a week, you no longer have the itches during the night, with relentless itching etc, waking you up, is it safe to assume they're all gone; given that reinfection among patients who have had it before manifests itself within a few days?
Cheers guys.

Yes scabies will still itch after treatment during the day this is just normal allergic reactions your skin is having to 1) the treatment 2) dryness from treatments 3) allergies to dead mites and fecal matter still under the skin. In post scabies you want to use stuff like sulfur soaps and epsom salts to help your skin surface the dead scabies mites and their debris still trapped under your skin. You can order real sulfur soaps online hereGood luck!

Active scabies itching is noticeable at night and you can tell the difference as it feels pin prick kinda feel in areas where they are active. The daytime scabies itching that comes from the dead mites and their debris under the skin which causes allergies which causes the regular daytime itching which would take place in areas scabies are or were living.

Yup sounds like you got rid of scabies. Here are some characteristics of knowing your over scabies:
-No more rashes -No more night time itching -Your finally getting full nights sleep -Not moody -Not waking up with random scratches on your body -No visible new tunnel marks -No weird areas with dry skin or flakey skin between fingers or other areas with skin folds
Keep in mind the first week or week and a half after scabies treatments your skin will still be allergic to the dead scabies mites and their fecal matter so you will still likely experience weird rashes and itching this is just allergic reactions the skin is having to the stuff under your skin. Tip: Use sulfur soaps and creams for scabies and post scabies you will get over it all alot faster! And it will continue to get better day by day if your making progress.
