1. The dog part could be your problem because scabies can live on dogs for up to 5 days then the scabies mite will either die or look for a human host. So it is possible you keep on getting reinfected by the dog.

2. Washing temperatures are not really important it is important to keep them in the dryer for up to an hour as this will kill any scabies mites in your clothing or bedding.

3. I would use a dryer to ensure your killing the scabies.

4. You do not have to iron just use a dryer.

5. You can leave your mattress and other items in a secluded place for two weeks and they should all be dead.

6. Other stuff around your house seal in sealable bags or containers

7. If you have a severe case of scabies you may need both sulfur and ivermectin. I think shots are for horses for humans they give you pills.

8. For cleaning of the floors use bleach cleaners so they kill any scabies lingering

10. You certainly need to treat your scalp or they are likely being forced to that area. Put it on your face as well as sulfur is safe.



It is possible as scabies is known as the 7 year itch. What I think is say you had it for a year before you started treatment, it will likely take a year to treat and possible a year for the post scabies conditions to go away.

I'm checking in to see how you are. Did the infection clear up? It seems possible that you may have started off with Scabies but you've developed eczema. Have you gone to a good dermatologist or immunologist? Long term infections are sometime linked to immunodeficiencies or allergies.

Re: tests: I know for certain that a "skin scrape" test can be done to determine if the mite that causes scabies (Sarcoptes) is still present in the area of your soars. Your doctor or nurse can scrape a samples of skin from your body, put the sample on a slide (in mineral oil) and look for the mites under 10x magnification. And re: dogs/pets: Sarcoptes, the mite that causes scabies in humans is a completely different species, size and shape from the one in dogs and cats that cause mange (Demodex) . The mite in dogs and cats can come into contact with humans but die because they can not successfully lay their eggs on human skin (aka, humans are not part of their "reproductive cycle"). I'm pretty sure that the reverse is also true (that Sarcoptes can not live long on a dog or cat). However that said, mite that cause scabies seem to be able to live on anything fluffy for a few days without a human hosts. So anything a mite could possibly grab on to like bedding, rugs should be washed if it can't be bagged. I would think you'd want to wash your pets as well just because you wouldn't want them hopping on and then off your animal after you've done all the other cleaning. You can take your pets to a local vet clinic and have them washed with a shampoo to remove any mites at the same time you try permethrin treatment on yourself (I used to work in an animal hospital where I did mange tests and treatments).

Since this has been going on so long I would really recommend going to different, new doctors like a dermatologist, immunologist, or even a rheumatologist. They can make sure it's not eczema caused by a particular irritant or allergy and also see if you are getting enough vitamin D. Speaking of, does your condition get any worse or better if you get some sun? Also, maybe next treatment time, try doing everything possible to make your living space hypoallergenic. Either get rid of rugs, clutter ( you might have a dust mite allergy) or put them in storage for a month while you give your body time to heal. Buy special zip-able dust covers for your pillows and mattress, etc. Ask a friend if they can take care of your dog for a few weeks. If your body starts to heal, then start to reintroduce each item, one by one slowly to see if you have a reaction. You may have tried all these things but I'm listing them just in case. Hopefully you're better!
