I did the treatment yesterday. Sunday, when i was diagnosed, I put everything id worn for the last week in a 33 gallon trash bag and tied it as tight as I could. Yesterday I washed my sheets and left them in the basket. Wiped my bed down with lysol, its polyester or something, along with everything else I touch regularily. I washed my blankets both yesterday and today(Tuesday Nov 8). Ive got literally eveything I own in plastic bags.. Hats, pillows(bought 2 extras) clothes. The only thing that isnt is clothes I havent touched, what ive worn today and last night not counting my jacket and pj pants, which I washed the last two days with my blankets.
I was fine today until I took a shower. In there I was really itchy from my waist down. Am I missing anything? This is driving me crazy as an 18 year old college kid... Pretty much alone on this.. I'm working on getting sulfur soap and am planning to treat again with the permethrin next monday. Is there anything else I can do? Im not sure whats worse right now. The mites or the psychological effects..
Any help is greatly appreciated..

Yes there is ALOT you can do! First off when u shower with hot water it makes the mites more active. I have bought " 20 mule team -borax laundry booster" from walmart for 3.00$ and sprinkled all over my carpet bc once the mites are on the carpet this stuff suffocates them. I also mixed it in a sprayer with hot water and sprayed all over my furniture. I also am using it in my laundry. Constantly clean ur laundry and never use anything more than once bc the eggs and mites will reinfest u. This is gonna be a tough one bc ur in college and I don't know ur availability to washer/dryer. I am also using tea tree oil from wal mart for 8$ or I saw it at Albertsons buy one get one for 11$ good deal as well as clove bud oil from the vitamin shoppe and I recently tracked down some neem oil ( dyna gro brand) from a hydroponic garden store that is 100% pure.been oil is what u really want bc it stops the mites from growing and stops them from reproducing!! Yay!! I will be mixing the oils together to make a spray for after baths. I use the borax in baths at night and spray with peroxide while in the bath as well. May sting a Lil if you have been itching an have open sores. Try ur best not to itch as the mites get under your nails and inhabit your body the next place u touch. These things suck and are gigot contagious. I used the permithin cream twice but once I read the side effects I trashed it and It didn't work for us. I am getting more results now. I am also waiting on a sulfer rx from out pharmacy. We have been taking ivermectin pills and those seems to help a bunch too. We bought a plastic mattress cover for like 12$ bc these things can live for 72 hours without a host to feed on. Ew. And we also bought trash bags for our pillows and place our cases over them bc this is getting so expensive. I was the bedding every day. Ok I cheated once and put it in the dryer for an hour . But so far so good. I'm taking every measure possible and with you in college it's so easy to spread and u may keep reinfesting yourself. If you live in campus you may want to tell them so they can try to stop this . Think I covered it all if not let me know ;)

I also noticed this when you shower in hot water or its relly hot out and your sweaty the itchiness is even worse, it can drive you nuts. Not sure how these things are come winter when temps are cooler. I find having cool showers is better to minimize the scabies itching, you can also use sulfur soap and cocoa butter I am having success with those.

Try taking baths at night for 30minutes before bed this will allow you to get some sleep and ease the scabies symptoms. You can add either a cup of epsom salts or even half a cup of baking soda. Both are great to bath in and will help heal your skin and make it soft once again!
