I was curious if anyone knows any type of household items that could be used in any way against scabies or post scabies? Maybe this could be a thread for people to post their scabies experiences and what kinda little tips and tricks have helped them get through it.

I will start by saying I have been using the baking soda tip posted on this forum by using a half cup of baking soda in a warm bath at night and this allows me to get some sleep as it prevents itching. It seems to be working very well.

Do you have any tips or tricks ?

Use 1 drop of tea tree oil on lesions created by scabies if they red in appearance. The tea tree oil will not kill scabies but it has antibacterial and antifungal properties which will take away the redness and dry up the lesions. You can also put 5-8 drops in a warm bath.

I found this to be pretty effective if you can put up with the tea tree oil smell as it is very strong.

All you need is sulfur products to kill scabies and for post scabies as they are great for helping the skin heal and removing markings, lesions and scars. I wouldn't just put toothpaste on you though cause their are many different kinds that have different ingredients. Maybe do some more online investigation before you do it or get some advice.

Dancing I have put some witch hazel on a piece of napkin or toilet paper and wipe it on the area and no it does not burn and it stops the itching and gets rid of the swelling from the bumps.

If you want items to help you kill scabies stick with real scabies creams that work and use sulfur soaps that are specifically made for scabies. Anything less and you will just waste your money and still have scabies. Take it from me I know. Here is a website you can get everything from scabies creams, sulfur soaps, bed sheets and even pocket microscopes to see areas that are infected.

Scabies Creams and Soaps website

These creams and soaps are specially meant for scabies which is why they work!

Here's a south american recipe, except you got be careful you don't get 3rd degree burns. First of all take the shower head off, then calculate the hotest water. your body can stand. I mean hack the heat as much as you can. Make sure that hot water (as much as you handle) hits every bump trail or wart directly. As we know here in South America. (here doctor visit is for the rich) each time the hot water hits the wart, the eggs die, and the next day the bumps are flat and . Next use pinesol, The smell drives you crazy, Imagine what it does to the poor little mite. wash everything everyday, gotta change everything everyday pillow case undies socks linen everything everyday. Quarantine all noninfected clothes. In USA benzodryne is holy remedy... the mite survives in the carpet so cover absolutely all carpet ares left right center you name it. And under the sofas. Put plastic on your matress.. These thing hide day time under pillows sofas mattress, they survive on dirty towels clothing etc. God bless you... Order benzodryne online...good luck..Carlos

Using pinesol which is a foor cleaner makes no sense, neither does showeirng with hot water. I have no clue about taking the shower head off how you got that one in there. And they are scabies not warts.

You need either sulfur or permethrin to treat scabies. Those are the only two rememdies you can apply externally that actually work!

Don't forget the carpet Ken, once Permethrin kills them on your body, they continue to live on your carpet, all over your carpet corner to corner, inch by inch, that is their protective amazon jungle. that is when Benzodryne comes into play. You go barefooted and their back on you instantly. Permethrin is excellent but don't forget the rest, as for the hot water, well it's clear your week. People think they're scabie free once Permethrin does the job, but; you forget to treat the carpet and go barefooted and you're reinfected Ken. All in all Permethrin (credit to you for this one) and holy remedy Benzodryne is the best way to go. The benzodryne must be sprayed every single day, like end of time Rain. furniture must be soaking wet with it. Do this and you're completely healed Ken. Or you can have these mites for ever. I got rid of them in 15 days. Do this and you're completely cured.. As for wart I meant bumps ok, trails etc. the hot water does work, but you gotta hack it, cause it's hot not warm. Don't credit away from pinesol, a clean environment is always good, Lysol, Pinesol, Windex, etc. if you searcch Wikipida you'll see these mites die on hot water, shower or laundry.

You can sprinkle borax on your carpets and this will be sufficient enough to kill any. I used a bleach spray that was about 10% bleach and 90% hot water and wiped down everything and sealed stuff I didnt regularly use in containers and even put clothing into sealed containers. So far so good I am using the sulfur creams and soaps and I am feeling a lot better. Though as you know scabies is no day in the park so I am still paranoid about everything I touch on a daily basis until I know for certain I am in the clear.

You can also try putting some epsom salts in a bath to help releive the itching and heal your skin. I know lots of older people have them around their house as they use them for digestion issues. Epsom salts contains sulfates so they help stop the itching. You would want to use from a half cup to a full cup per bath. You can also try using baking sosa as it would help soften up the skin.
