I have been to a dermatologist and diagonised with scabies. I was treated with permethrin 5%cream a little over 3 weeks ago and given prednisone to help the itching subside...the steroid has helped with swelling and a lot of the itching but I still am experiencing itching around my neck back and chest. I actually got infected from one of my friend,scabies is highly dangerous and contagious.The treatment seems to work very slowly with scabies

I got did the treatment one year ago ,I just felt that I am done with scabies,apparently I was wrong Now I'm on my second treatment and I am still itchy.

I have been cleaning the sheets almost like a fool for 2 days and
once again I see bumps on my back,I feel disgusting and hopeless.

I m going on 4 years with this scabies...I have tried everything under the sun 5 timess
over, seriously scabies is one shit which tests anyones patience .

God can you believe I am here with my dog's flea & tick shampoo rubbed all over my body for 24 hours now. I got a great sleep last night. Fixing to wash it off and see if that hasn't helped

I was astonished when I cam to know that I can actually pass on the scabies to my cat.I have decided actually to keep my cat separate from me while I undergo treatment for 2 weeks.Hope that will work since I'm gonna try some new products that people swear by And for all of you out there with scabies, tea tree oil only takes the itch away but doesn't kill the mites plus in some cases it causes severe burns to the skin like it did to me.

It’s almost 3 years now that I have scabies,don,t know exactly where I contacted it.
I have done everything down to the T. I ordered that tea tree oil shit and used it every day for three weeks and it worked less than the elimite. If anyone has actually got over this please do post in on this forum, My girlfriend actually broke up with me after she got scabies from me.

Animals can actually contract scabies mites and WILL pass it to humans. Please educate yourself...read a lot on the forums, well this forum has lot on how scary scabies is.

According to what I know pets cannot contract the scabies mites. However they get infected with a similar form of mite that they can pass on to you which will cause itching and iritation, but is not permanent like the scabies mite. In this case the mites will die after a few days, while the scabies mites can reproduce and will not subside until treated. I think you really need to know more .

You can just get infected with scabies from anyone,highly contagious,just trying everything possible to get out of it.

I agree it is highly contagious and can be very difficult to get rid of for many, it truly is one of those ilness' that can drive you crazy and nuts. I had trouble treating with permethrin and sulfur, it may have been because of the dry conditions here in arizona. In any case there are many natural approaches you can take using items rite from your refrigerator.
