Well it is VERY difficult to prevent scabies. If a person is known to have scabies, they should not have close skin-to-skin contact with others until they have been treated. If one member of a household has scabies, all other household members, sexual partners, and close contacts should be treated simultaneously.

When in the hospital, staff should use gloves and gowns when treating patients who have a suspicious rash and itching.

Yes this is a great precuation and thing that will prevent reinfestation in the long run, trying consulting a physician immediately and he can help you further with scabies or post scabies. Especially if you have infant children it is great to consult a physician immediately.

I agree, you should consult a phsyician rite away, especially in the case of an infant catching scabies or possibly catching them.
