Scabies is an infectious skin condition which is caused by the mites that reside beneath the surface of the skin. These scabies could be treated with some of the tropical medications such as crotamiton or permethrin. In cases when the scabies do not happen to respond to these medications or in cases if the patients cannot tolerate these traditional medicines, lindane lotion is applied to the affected parts.

In accordance to the US Food and Drug Administration, lindane has been existent in the market since 1951. However, it was considered to be second line therapy as soon as the other tropical medications were made available for the scabies patients. It has also been noted that overusing lindane can prove to be toxic to the brain and the nervous system. Infants as well as senior patients tend to experience adverse effects of Lindane and therefore it is typically prescribed in smaller quantities to minimize the side-effects attached to it. Lindane is typically prescribed 1 to 2 oz in quantities.

According to the FDA, there have been as many as 17 deaths due to the over-usage of lindane. Therefore it is recommended that you check the labels and re-confirm the dosage prior to using it, especially for children. In the present day, the use of Lindane has been highly restricted and is banned for use on children, pregnant women or elderly people. At the time of application, a thin layer of the lindane lotion is applied on the body from the neck going downwards and is left on the skin for 8 hours.

There are numerous different ways to kill scabies naturally instead of using dangerous chemicals such as permethrin. If your looking to kill your scabies with 3 items from your grocery store within 24 hours you should visit --> http://ScabiesHomeTreatment.com

I would never use things such as Lindane or Permethrin, good thing I have a good caring doctor who just doesnt push these things on me, to my understanding they have no choice in alot of situations as the thing is epidemic and it is their job regardless if they like it or not to hand out the permethrin. My suggestion is to try treating naturally first for a week or two then if that fails then resort to permethrin.
