How can I treat scabies at home without visiting a doctor? This is rather embarassing and I am not one to be put in that position of having to ask a phsyician. IS there some kind of home rememdies or oils I could use to treat this?

There are many different ways some more effective than others, you should try treating naturally first and if that don't work than you can resort to things like permethrin or lindane lotion. I suggest treating naturally first because those other chemicals are known to make your skin worse and itching worse and they are also linked to lead to cancer which is not a good remedy for a simple illness. Don't get me wrong scabies is hard to kill if you dont investigate, once you figure out their life cycle it makes it that much easier to cure and heal.

Hello,
I suffered with rampant red spots on my trunk and loin area for 4 weeks. They itched especially around 2-4 a.m.. Permethrin 5% cream didn’t work. The mixture of borax with hydrogen peroxide subsided the bumps for a day and then new ones appeared. Sulfur mixed with petroleum jelly gave the same result. Nothing availed.
A friend told me to soak in hot salt water for an hour for 4 days and not to rinse after each bath. I soaked and scrubbed all parts of my body so that the mites under the skin would be exposed. The bumps and the itch disappeared!!! I slept so well for the first time. I washed my bed sheets, pillows, comforter and clothes everyday in borax and detergent. I also vacummed and sanitized the whole house with borax. Soaking in a hot bath mixed with 2 lbs of sea salt for an hour for 4 days really works. This treatment is cheap and non-toxic.
