Yeah permethrin is definetely something you want to use as a last resort, they already banned lindane in over 40 countries as it has lead to death and neurological problems which is something to do with your head, not to mention it is responsible for leading to skin cancer. You should try treating naturally as there are tons of ways to do so. Last resort if all that doesnt work try permethrin. In the last 5 years or so people are saying the scabies mites have evolved and are resistant to permethrin. I would say it all depends on the type of scabies you have or how quickly it was diagnosed that results in what treatments work or fail.
