Does anyone know about "Post Nodular Scabies". I know that isnt active scabies, but it is the scabies "leftovers" under your skin and that it's pretty common in people with sensitive skin. I would appreciate any information anyone has about nodular post scabies. I would also like to know if the amount of time you suffer during active scabies affects the amount of time you suffer through the post scabies symptoms.

Thanks you

Yes post nodular scabies will happen to people with sensitive skin or thick skin. Yes the longer you had active scabies the longer it will take for your skin to release the debrie. I suggest bathing lots in hot water and epsom salts and loofa while you shower to slowly release the debrie from your skin. Some people suffer for years, Scabies doesnt get the alias " 7 year itch" for nothing.

Keep your head up

I believe nodular scabies refers to a more active case of scabies where they live deeper under the skin and create bumps on the skin. These are more severe cases such as ones like norwegian scabies which happens to people with more comprise immune systems.

The comment above makes no sense. Norwegian can infect any one. People with compromised immune system have more difficult time getting ride of scabies. Nodular scabies is a prolonged hypersensitivic reaction after scabies has been irradiated.

Nodular scabies is scabies that is driven deeper into the skin and creates large bumps, I had them when I had scabies. Norwegian scabies you will have hundreds or thousands of mites where with normal scabies you have about 15-20 mites at one time.

How long did it take for the nodular scabies to go away after treatment?

They take more time then normal scabies as the scabies are deeper wtihin the skin, I suggest using sulfur treatments as they penetrate the skin better. I never had good results with permethrin, I mean it made me feel better for a few days but the scabies returned.

I treated my self with permethrin about 6 times. In the end I probably panicked. Nodular scabies takes time to go away. In my case, about 8-9 months. Nodular scabies is easily curable with permethrin. For some, scabies symptoms seem to last for a year after the treatment. It's not as bad as it sounds because the symptoms gradually lessen with time and you may go weeks without symptoms. The nodules will flare up patriotically but will eventually go away. My advice is to relax and save yourself the money and possible side effects of the medications. Its true there is a reason why it is called "the 7 year itch". Thank god it is not actually 7 years.
