Prior to your application of permethrin do not wear the same clothing you were wearing, put on a fresh change of clothing directly before application and then after the application is done. Make sure you wash all clothing/bedding prior to treatment and after treatment to be on the safe side!

I hear some people completely bag their clothing and bedding up for months . Is this needed or just a precaution? Should washing them and overdrying them twice be enough? What soap do you suggest washing with

Yeah I changed before application and after application and also cleaned everything and washed everyting twice before and after application once again. Seems to help alot and keeps my mind more at ease of not hanging out with these things.

I was fortunate enough to have enough money to buy all new clothing and throw out the old. Damn am I paranoid, this is something that is driving me nuts. I had never even knew about scabies until I got them, this is a horrible thing to overcome.

Another great thing to do prior to the permethrin application is take a 1hr hot bath, this will open up your pores more and giver the permethrin a better chance at penetrating your skin.
