Scabies is a kind of itchy rash which is caused by parasitic organisms that live beneath the surface of skin. These organisms are widely referred to as mites and are about 0.4 mm in length. As soon as they infest the surface of skin, they would lay their eggs in the deeper layers of skin, making it extremely difficult to eliminate them completely. Regardless of the age, gender or location, scabies can happen to anyone across the world. It has been estimated that more than 300 million people are affected with scabies every year. Scabies reaction in the genital parts is referred to as genital scabies. It is a severe form of the condition and would cause a lot of embarrassment to the sufferer. Such a form of scabies is passed on by coming into contact with another individual’s genitals. For the most part, there are over-the-counter medications available to treat genital scabies. As a measure for prevention, you must avoid having sexual contact when you are infested with genital scabies since this might spread the infestation. Any lotion or cream that contains malathion as an active ingredient could be used. Mostly, the mites would be killed with the first application itself, but it would be beneficial to apply it again in seven days, so as to restrict the chances of re-infestation. The eggs laid by the mites would take about 10-15 days to mature. So it would be ideal to repeat the treatments thrice to ensure complete elimination of scabies. Ofcourse they are! The treatment you use depends on a couple factors;
Length you had scabies before being diagnosed.
Type of scabies, norwegian, regular , nodular scabies
And your general health.

before i was diagnosed with scabies i was itching like crazy for about 2 weeks before i decided that it just wasn't going to go away! i had the common symptons, bumpy rough skin between my fingers, a spotty rash around my waist/genitals and severe itching when i got out of a hot shower or whilst i was in bed. the doctor diagnosed it and gave me a 'derbac' cream. I used the cream and then re-applied it a week aftr, It has been $ weeks now since the second application and i am still itching and the rash is still there. How do i know if i am still infested, or wether i have post scabies or even an exzema reaction? in the last week i have also noticed a few dry spots on my gentials which i am assuming are related to the scabies. They are completely painless and showing no sign of being comfottable however not brilliant to look at! any advice would be greatful

Treatment could of failed. Same thing happened for me after numerous treatments of kwelleda p the scabies did not go away until i started using sufur treatments. Not sure if the cream was staying on properly or gettingi in my skin enough to kill the mites. Anyways try sulfur it works! But also keep in mind post scabies does itch but not active feeling itches that will keep you awake.

Thanks for the tip! I was using reactine but it kinda masks the progress of the scabies so i take it for a few days then a few days off so i can monitor my skins programs and the scabies itching to determine whether it is active scabies or not.
Thanks
