Dust mites are those tiny little insects which burrow deep into the bedding and cause allergic reactions to humans. They usually survive on the dead skin, hair or other droppings from humans or animals. They reside in pillows, blankets as well as mattresses. They could hardly be seen or felt, unless they cause a serious infestation. For the most part, you would sometimes notice dark blood spots on your pillows or mattresses if the infestation is pretty severe. We have listed a few common ways to eliminate dust mites from your bedding.

First of all, you must regularly wash your pillows in hot water. This would kill all the hidden dust mites and also eliminate their faeces. In addition, place some tennis balls with your pillows in the dryer. This would help to fluff off the feathers in the pillow, while they are being dried. Lastly, dry your pillows in hot setting, which would kill the remaining dust mites.

On the other hand, you could also use the vacuum cleaner to hose the pillows and clean them on the outside. Regular cleaning would lessen the chances of an infestation. It would also be suggestive to use pillow covers and clean them on a regular basis. Extreme heat is known to be highly effective as far as eliminating dust mites are concerned. Quite a few times, people are allergic to the faeces of these mites, which may perhaps lead to different skin conditions. if you experience consistent itching or discomfort for a longer time, it would be suggestive to see a doctor and get your skin tested for severe infections.
