A few years ago, bed bugs were just something grandparents told their grandkids to make them behave. You know, "Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite"? Well, in the last little while, bed bugs have being returning to the stage in America, so you might want to think about putting together a game plan for ridding your home of this vermin. The downside is that bed bugs are nearly everywhere. The upside, at least for the southern folks, are that these bugs live mainly north. You'll find their cousin living in the tropics, but they've been spotted as far north as the Sunshine State.

Remember now, that bed bugs aren't dust mites. You can see bed bugs, all reddish brown and flat. What happens is, bed bugs do bite, because they make meals out of your blood while you sleep at night, and they don't move about slowly. Look in those nooks and crannies in your sheets and under your pillow, and you might catch sight of a few.

There will be no denying if and when an infestation of bed bugs hits your home, and it won't be pretty. In the words of dentists, prevention is the key to happiness, so let's go over some ideas that'll keep bed bugs from biting in your home.

Any exterminator will tell you that keeping bed bugs from getting into your house is better than trying to get them out. You'll know when they've arrived because their bites will show up one night as neat little rows on your skin, looking like welts. If this happens, you'll need to check everywhere for them, like a police force putting out the dragnet for public enemy number one. Don't leave anything overlooked. hamper, bed sheets, all the furniture, even your luggage, all the places bed mites like to hang out. They may be tiny, but just remember flat and reddish brown and you'll spot them easily enough.

The perfect place for bed bugs are where people like to hang out. Think of apartments, hotels, school dormitories -- and believe it or not, stores that sell used furniture. Just recently been to a furniture store? Better check for bed mites. Don't forget the eggs. Think of all the places they can be hiding, like seams and folds in the bed mattresses.

Speaking of beds, if there are any blood stains or tiny flecks of feces in the sheets, you've got bed mites. Why the blood stains? You've either crushed bugs that have just fed on you, by rolling around on them, or you've been bleeding because the anticoagulant they use when biting into you is too good so you've kept on bleeding after they've stopped stuffing themselves. So, if it looks like blood, it probably is, and it might be a smart thing to clean the sheets, maybe even disinfect the whole bed.

Once you know you've got a bed mite invasion, then get out the sanitizer and start using it. If you've got the cash, replace the mattresses, otherwise, use a vacuum cleaner and then seal the mattress in a plastic shroud to keep the bugs from making a return trip. When you are done with that, get to the clothes, the sheets, and the towels, get them into hot water, and run the vacuum through the infected areas of the house completely, because putting these poisons in the same place you sleep is not really a good idea. You can use traps similar to what you'd use to catch mice, like the kind that causes them to stick to paper, and you might get by with using boric acid around your sleeping quarters, but keep this away from the mattress.

The easiest way to kill Bed Bugs is to use the proper treatments that actually work, I realize this is a problem that requires urgent attention so if you want to get rid of your bed bugs visit: http://www.BugBedTreatment.com
