Ofcourse it is safe. I think you may be talking about the permethrin as it is a pesticide which is dangerous and can cause secondary skin infections and other problems. I used the sulfur and was cured within a week and I had it for a few months before being diagnosed because the signs were not very visible. My doctor did ensure me that using sulfur would ensure a complete kill as it is 100% effective in dealing with scabies. Another thing to consider is maybe you have a different type of mite as there is also bird mites and rat mites which have different life cycles. I guess this is why it is pretty important you determine what you are dealing with first. Here is a site that sells pocket microscopes for 15$ and they also sell the sulfur I bought to treat my scabies. Buy Scabies Sulfur Creams and Pocket MicroscopesHope this Helps!

You probably have something else or maybe even possible norwegian scabies. I know norwegian scabies can take a lot more treatment to get rid of as they happen to people with weak immune systems. Or you are getting reinfested by your environment. The scabies life cycles is roughly 5-7 days and this is why you should treat a full 7 just in case. Or maybe 4 days on 2 days off and another 4 days on and this will break the cycle.

The sulfur worked for me fine and I had scabies for about 3 weeks before being diagnosed. My doctor diagnosed me and my daughter and suggested we both treat naturally with the sulfur and it worked within 4 days as it completely dried them out. I would suggest that you make sure you are applying it to your full body as much as you can throughout that time, primarily in areas with skin folds and thicker areas of skin. You should be also using the sulfur soaps and loofah your body in circular motions to help surface the debris which is causing the itchiness and the bumps. Remember that post scabies can feel like scabies also and you can still continue to get lessions and bumps this is because your skin is allergic to the stuff under it (dead scabies, dead eggs, eggs , feacal matter) Depending on how long you had scabies it could take you longer to treat the scabies and also get through the post scabies stage where your skin is healing and bringing the debris to the surface.
