I am just curious , we have some really thick carpets, do you think we should replace the carpeting to hard wood floors to help prevent this again in the futre? Or do you suggest we just steamclean them a couple times. These things really make me paranoid, also should I clean my car and with what should I use? Sorry I am new to this game, Heading to Walmart!

Use Borax all over them once a day then vaccuum like 45minutes later, this should kill any scabies and keep you from getting reinfected.

Borax easily kills scabies in your carpets but does it kill scabies if you put some in your bath? I would like to know if this works.

Thanks

You should just go and buy yourself a cheap steam cleaner from walmart, they are like 100$ and then you can steam clean your carpets like once a week and this should prevent you from getting reinfected with scabies and should also kill all the scabies that are in the carpets.

Or you could move into a hotel for a week and not risk the reinfection due to the carpets, Scabies fall off alot and go into your carpeting so its a good place for reinfection! Or clean one section of the house and stay in it one week then clean the other half and stay in that half, this could help you fight off reinfection more if you can not leave your own house.

Try buying a steam cleaner and steam clean any bedding or carpeting atleast once a week, you can also distribute borax to your carpeting about 1 hour before vaccuming, this will help to prevent the scabies from living in your carpeting as people often get reinfested the most by their bedding, clothing, mattress or carpeting. Knowing more about the scabies life cycle can go a long way in helping you fight the battle.
