Isn't scabies spread across the entire body like chicken pox? It seems what I thought may have been scabies may not be them if it is secluded to just my fingers and wrist area? Does this sound like an allergic reaction or some other type or rash outbreak?

Thanks

Scabies will start on one part of the body and spread around as they develop in groupings of lessions, you can also spread them around from scratching at them. As the scabies infection spreads or goes untreated it will spread all over the body in places with more skin/skin folds or areas more concealed.

When I got scabies I recall them starting on the insides of my hands and fingers and then over the course of a week and a half the scabies spread to other parts of my body likely from my hands. I think it is important to avoid reinfection by touching things that may be infested in your environment. From what I have read scabies is very infectious and easily spreads around. This is why you have to treat your whole family at once regardless if they know they have it or the scabies can just pass back and forth.

My guess is that in about 70% of scabies cases people first contract them on their hands from either contact with infected people or possessions of infected people!

Try soaking your hands to maybe loosen up the skin before treatment if you think they are surviving in your hands because of the thickness of your skin. Scabies seems to prefer the skin because of the webbing inbetween your fingers and the skin folds which makes it easier for them to digg in and survive.
