Can scabies grow in your hair or would they only live in the skin in your scalp? Say I was itching a lot on my scalp and hair how would I determine if it is not lice rather than scabies? From what I read scabies treatments are only suggested for the neck and above but other threads people say that scabies can live on your scalp. Anyone know why?

For lice you can get kwelleda p which contains 1% permethrin and is only left on for 10mins or so. For scabies you would want to be using sulfur creams on your body for 4 days during the evening and overnight! This is to ensure it kills the scabies but in most cases it only need a few nights overnight!

I had scabies on my scalp and ears when I had them so yes they can live on your face, you will notice while treating them they move to different areas as well.

You would not get scabies on your hair but they would be on your scalp as they live within skin unless dislodged then they will slowly look for a human host. You can have them on your body anywhere skin is but they do prefer certain areas with skin folds.
