Hi all,

I people on this forum say that tea tree oil does not kill scabies,

I have read a lot of australian reports saying that its even more effective than 5% premethrin cream.

Here is some from the study:

With 5% TTO, all scabies mites were dead within three hours, whereas terpinen-4-ol alone required 11.5 hours for 100% mortality. The effect of terpinen-4-ol alone on reducing viability of the scabies mites was similar to that when combined with alpha-terpineol and 1,8-cineole. These components used alone were relatively inactive against the scabies mite, suggesting that terpinen-4-ol is the active component. After one hour of exposure, only 10% of mites tested against 5% permethrin and ivermectin, and none of the mites tested against the Emulsifying Ointment BP88 were dead

And they said it doesnt work? Would love to hear more from anyone who has seen a printed treatment 101 with it. Or is this just something new that is only in Australia, whats the deal? seems to be lots of writing about it but no treatment breakdown.

Yeah many members on this board have done tons of research and nowhere do they provide a treatment protocol for using it. Basically it is some kind of scam that Australia does to make their product sell as the tree only grows in australia, I have seen it touted as a cure all for everything which is false. Though it is good on lessions in post scabies as it holds very high antibacterial and antifungal properties but it will not cure your scabies. I spent literally thousands of dollars on it and put it on my full body undiluted for 6 months. All it did was mask the itching, smell my apartment up and give me some kind of breathing problems as it was so strong. I noticed though when applied to lessions that they would flatten out and hte redness would go away.

Hope this helps
