i have posted in here before. we were treating for scabies for over 4 months. - then got the all clear. Derm says we probably got rid of them befor then, but I kept treating everyone - extreme measures like plastic over everything, freezing shoes, bleaching, wearing nothing for more than 8 hours. spent $350 on a dryer :) that was 3 months ago, and itching has been coming and going since, but dying down.- occasional spot, and kid has a little exzema (which looks nothing like scabies.
5 weeks ago had friends come and stay. one of the kids had 'dermatitis".they left 31/2 weeks ago, and last week got told that she actually had scabies (and would have had it for months). i immediately start itching hahaha
a full week after they left, my kid develops flat red sore rash surrounding wrists- looks nothing like scabies.not itchy, but really sore. doc says allergy. it dies down , but her hands remain super sentitive to soap
so now my itching comes and goes. I sleep fine with it - so doesnt get worse at night.. every 4-5 days ill take an antihistamine. massively sentitive hands, with faint pins and needles there and on feet. itchy lower belly sometimes, and cheeks. random itches too.
I have no burrows, no dry bumps on fingers or anything , just itching and sensitivity
somedays im almost convinced theyre back. others im ok. today, not so good ;)
so - is this just aftermath of scabies?
we were cleared 3 months ago.
if we had managed to be reinfected from friends kid (and there was no sharing of beds or towels) - that was between 31/2 and 5 weeks ago that would have occured. would we be seeing a lot more than just itchy hand? there's no scabbiness anywhere?!
any ideas?Think

The itchy pin prick type itching is a tell tale sign of scabies, if you were just recently infected it may take a few weeks for the itching and lessions to be in full force as it is a reaction of the skin from the mites debris underneath it. Typically scabies itching will get worse at night as they are more active and they are more active when it is raining or real hot.
