If I were to apply the doctor perscribed cream, put on recently washed and dried closthes and then move out of the house for several days would that eliminate an infestation?

Not really! But in most cases it should. This is why the cream says kills scabies in one application in most cases, you are going to have to wait a week and look for signs of new lessions and active scabies itching which occurs more during the evening hours as they are active!

Sulfur is the most effective way to kill scabies by applying it for 3-4 nights to your entire body during the evening hours. For some reason lots of people report the permethrin not being effective and even making them more itchier. Try sulfur treatments they certainly work! And sometimes with permethrin you have to use it 7 days apart again to kill the scabies life cycle.
